Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of xellshift: the web app at app.xellshift.com, the website at xellshift.com, and the licenses sold for them (together, “xellshift”). xellshift is operated by Enloint (representative: Kim, Sung eun; business registration number 211-23-70065), 402-748A, 12 Teheran-ro 70-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea (“we”, “us”). By signing in, buying a plan or using xellshift for work, you accept these terms. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it, and “you” includes the organization.
1. What xellshift does
xellshift compares two versions of an Excel workbook and shows what changed. Its Why it changed view recalculates both versions to show which edits moved a result, and by how much. Everything runs inside your browser: your workbooks are read, compared and recalculated on your device and are never sent to us. Our servers handle only sign-in, licenses, organizations and billing, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Plans
- Free, without an account: every comparison feature, and Why it changed on the built-in sample. On your own workbooks, Why it changed without a plan shows the total change and its largest driver only.
- Pro is a paid subscription, per named user (seat), bought for one person or for a team.
- Enterprise, including a self-hosted or offline package, is offered under a separate written agreement, which prevails over these terms where they differ.
3. License
While your plan is active, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use xellshift within your plan: for Free, everything that works without a plan; for the trial and Pro, use by the named users who hold a seat or a trial. You may not resell, sublicense or rent xellshift, share a seat between people, or circumvent its license checks. Your workbooks, notes and the reports you export are yours.
4. Accounts and seats
You sign in with a link sent to your e-mail address; keep access to that mailbox secure, as anyone who can read it can sign in as you. A seat belongs to one named person, who may use it in several browsers and on several devices. Licenses belong to the organization: the buyer is its owner, and the owner and admins give and take back seats. Licenses are checked on your device, so after a seat is taken back, xellshift may keep working on a device for up to 14 days.
5. Free trial
When you first sign in, you can try Pro free for 14 days, without a card, once per person. The trial ends by itself; nothing is charged unless you buy a plan. After the trial, Why it changed on your own workbooks requires a paid plan.
6. Purchases, renewals and refunds
Orders are processed by Freemius, our reseller and merchant of record, which charges you, issues invoices and handles sales taxes under its own terms. Prices are shown excluding VAT and sales tax. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The person who bought the plan can cancel it at any time in the Freemius customer portal, which the app links to, or by writing to support@xellshift.com; your plan then runs until the end of the period you paid for. Every first payment for a plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee: write to us or to Freemius within 30 days for a full refund. Mandatory consumer rights under the law that applies to you are not affected.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use xellshift unlawfully, overload or probe our servers, interfere with other users, or misrepresent the plan under which you use it.
8. Your data and your files
Your workbooks never leave your browser, and your notes and exported reports stay on your device. We cannot see, restore or back them up: keep your own copies. xellshift reads your workbooks and never changes them.
9. Results are a review aid
xellshift shows what changed and where to look; it is a review aid, not an audit, and not professional, financial or accounting advice. It can miss or misreport a change. Why it changed recalculates your workbooks with its own calculation engine, and its results can differ from Excel’s. You are responsible for checking results and for the decisions you base on them.
10. Changes and availability
We improve xellshift continuously and may change, add or remove features. We aim to keep it available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If we stop offering a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
11. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, xellshift is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results or freedom from errors.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or business decisions made with xellshift, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for xellshift in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Ending
You may stop using xellshift at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@xellshift.com. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, after notice where reasonable.
14. Third-party components
xellshift includes open-source software under its own licenses, whose notices are published with the app. Microsoft Excel is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation; xellshift is not affiliated with Microsoft.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction over disputes, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where they live or of the right to bring claims there.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for material changes, tell signed-in users by e-mail or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using xellshift and cancel your plan.
